Never too many cooks in the kitchen: Jo Coleman and Cassandra Morrison opened their Southfield based business, The Culinary Studio, in 2011 after realizing there was a need for an environment for culinary professionals to mass produce their products without incurring the full expense of a full blown brick and mortar establishment.
Kudos to Jo and Cassandra! Also a big thank you for hiring me as their photographer for the event and using one of my photos for publication!

Relaxation Plus!
million gallons of warm mineral water flows daily. It has 51
minerals and stays at an even 87 degrees. Warm Mineral
Springs has the highest mineral content in the United States
and the third highest in the world. Each mineral has its own
health benefits which are absorbed through the skin.
Warm Mineral Springs is listed in the National Register of
Historical Places as one of the most important underwater
archaeological sites in the United States. The site has yielded
a human skull with brain matter still intact (1959, Lt. Col. William
Royal). The Springs have also yielded saber tooth tigers, giant
sloths and tortoise, and camels remains. It is believed that 30,000
years ago Warm Mineral Springs was a dry cave.
You’ll note the surface of the Spring is a round pond. Except at 15 - 20
feet thick at the surface, the water is anaerobic, containing no
dissolved oxygen. Chemical analysis of the water reveals a mineral
content of 17,439 parts per million (ppm). Some of the minerals
in the water are: Magnesium, Sulfate, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium,
Silica, Chloride, Carbon Dioxide, and Bicarbonate.
The Springs has a Spa, Spa Donya, Cafe Evergreen, and offers
free classes like Hydro Yoga, Pilates, Flextasty and Water Aerobics
to name a few. On my visit I participated in the Hydro Yoga class.
The water has a slight sulfur smell but I didn’t find it annoying. All
in all it was a very relaxing experience. Warm Mineral Springs is
open 363 days a year and is a fascinating place to visit. The Springs
motto is “You’ll Feel Better©” I can say that I certainly did! It was a
great experience to end the year.
