Wedding Day! I am so proud of my son and now daughter! It was a wonderful wedding! The reception included hula and fire dancing! It was a marvelous to see them both so happy and so much in love!

Today was a day of relaxation! I just hung out in the jacuzzi and pool before going to the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

I took a tour today that highlighted key historical areas here in Oahu. My tour guide was Bud Andress, one of the best tour guides I ever had. My first photo op the Halona Blow Hole/Sandy Beach. The Halona Blow Hole is where water can be released once it collects in the lava tube.

The water can blow 30 feet into the air!

I also had a view of Sandy Beach, a surfer's delight.

The next stop was one of my favorite places...Hanauma Bay! The last time I was in Oahu I went snorkeling here.

At Diamond Head Lookout There's a monument to Amelia Earhart as the first person to fly alone from Hawaii to North America January 11, 1935.

Nu'uanu Pali Lookout had breathtaking island views!

The Mormon Temple and BYU Hawaii was also on the tour.

Laie Point was an extra stop...a real gem Bud took us to with exceptional views!

Another great surfing spot is Sunset Beach on the North Shore.

The best shot of the day came from a unscheduled stop! I wound up with a bruised and skinned knee to get this shot!

The last stop of the day was the Dole Plantation. I've never seen so many varieties! Next time you buy a can of pineapple read the label. Hawaii isn't where it comes from!

Happy May Day! AKA Lei Day in Hawaii! Today was a long day. I started out on a self-tour of downtown Honolulu.

I began the day at Iolani Palace that was the home to Hawaii's last King and Queen. Here's some trivia for you: the palace had electric lights before the White House!

My next stop was Kawaiahao Church.

And downtown historic Honolulu would not be complete without the King Kamehameha statute. Kamehameha the Great was so named as he was the first warrior to unite all the Hawaiian Islands.

Located across from the Hawaiian State Capital Building is a memorial dedicated to the men and women of the State of Hawaii who have served in the armed forces.

After all the sightseeing I ended the day with the Paradise Cove Luau. It was a fascinating trip back in time!

This day in paradise is finally over!

I spent the morning talking wedding arrangements with Kris. He's on his way to New Jersey to pick up Daianna. They will arrive tomorrow!

For some reason I had this bright idea to sit in on a timeshare presentation. That was a waste of 2-1/2 hours that I could have spent out taking photographs! Instead I wound up with more shots of the sunset. Nice but just not what I had planned. Tomorrow is another day!

Today I had a chance to explore my immediate surroundings. I'm staying at the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club. All of photos were taken on the property which has amazing views and waterfalls.

Tonight's sunset was not as spectacular as yesterday's but clearer skies are in the forecast!

Arrived in Oahu for my son's wedding and was treated to a beautiful sunset! I'm looking forward to getting out to photograph some of the exquisite sites I saw on the way to the hotel. There is certainly something to be said about "destination weddings!"
